About Gandia, Oliva, Denia.
Gandia
Gandia with over 20km of sandy beach was an early stage for tourism on the Costa Blanca, tuorism started back in the 1950's. The Ducal palace and cathedral offer glimses of old Spain within this sophisticated working Spanish city with a wealth of modern shops, tree lined walkways, parks and squares. The town is compact and therefore almost any part is within walking distance of the centre. It is surrounded by mountains and orange groves. 3km away is the port, yaht basin and Gandia Playa coastal resort offering 7km promenade faced with palm trees and golden sand.
Oliva
The historic traditional Spanish town of Oliva lies on on what is known as orange blossom coast. Boasting over 300 days of sunshine and 10km of sandy beaches Oliva has a pleasant all year round appeal. The town is steeped in history with its Moorish castle remains and beautiful blue domed churches both of which are illuminated at night. In the newer part of town you will find a covered market and the main passai is host to a weekly market where almost everything is sold.
Denia
Lying beneath the heights of the Montgo natural park Denia has broad streets and the castle over looks the old quarter near the fishing port where you can catch a ferry to the Balearic Islands. Denia has 12km of wide sandy beaches and in July hosts the Bous a la Mar where a temporay bull ring is set up and the bulls are enticed to chase the local boys into the sea.
