About Costa Blanca
Geographical Zone
The Costa Blanca is located on the Spanish Levante Coast, on the best part of the Mediterranean. It forms the southern-most part of the Valencian Coastline and serves the province of Alicante. It is famous worldwide for its fantastic climate, friendly people and healthy cuisine.
The whole coastal area is dotted with beautiful beaches and impressive leisure ports and it has many protected areas of international ecological importance. The Isla of Tabarca is just one of these riches; a marine reserve renowned for its variety of fauna, crystal clear waters, seafood and scenery.
The Sierras of the interior zones provide breathtaking landscapes and visitors to the area become enamoured by the charming villages set within their valleys. Each of the villages is marked by a unique place of cultural, historic, artistic and archaeological interest.
Climate
The Costa Blanca doubtlessly has one of the best climates in Spain and in Europe. It is among the zones that has the most hours of sunshine per annum and it is for this reason that the province capital, Alicante, was given the title ‘city of light’.
In the summer months temperatures can soar above 30 degrees celsius and even in mid-winter people can be seen taking a stroll along the beach or eating al-fresco, dressed in just T-shirts and shorts.
The climate marks the character and vitality of the Costa Blanca, with its open and happy personality. The local communities open their doors to welcome visitors from all over the world and many of these visitors return every year to holiday on the Costa Blanca, or to live a new lifestyle.
